The new Samsung Notebook 9 Pro lies at the other end of the laptop spectrum from the Notebook Flash. These are specs typically found on a Chromebook rather than a Windows 10 machine.Īt least the screen is satisfying: a 13.3-inch full HD (1,920 by 1,080 pixels) panel offers bright colors and crisp text. Speaking of cheap, though, the cost savings have to come from somewhere, so Samsung has outfitted the Notebook Flash with a pokey Intel Celeron processor (a slightly faster Pentium CPU is an additional $50), 4GB of memory, and a stingy 64GB of flash storage. The Notebook Flash's keys themselves are rounded like those of a typewriter, and they're satisfyingly sturdy for a laptop this cheap. It feels durable and reassuring, and vaguely evocative of the Microsoft Surface Laptop's far more premium fabric keyboard deck. Open up the lid and you immediately notice the textile pattern that surrounds the keyboard and touchpad.
The only silver part is the Samsung logo. The lid cover looks like a donut with sprinkles on top, spread in uniform rows across the lid.
